First GPTCA Course Completed in India

The first GPTCA course to be held in India came to a successful end in Chennai on Wednesday. Seventeen coaches received their GPTCA C-Level diplomas after completing the three-day course that was held in conjunction with the Aircel Chennai Open ATP tournament.

“We are very proud to welcome these Indian coaches to the GPTCA family,” said Claudio Pistolesi, the GPTCA National President of India. “We were so impressed with the enthusiasm and ability of the coaches here in Chennai and are looking forward to continue to work with them now as GPTCA members.”

The course was hosted by Pistolesi and GPTCA president Alberto Castellani. Guest speakers included highly-respected touring physio and fitness coach Stefan Duell, ATP Tour Supervisor Konstantin Haerle, and ITF Gold Badge Referee Nitin Kannamwar. Participants also enjoyed Q&A sessions with ATP players Somdev Devvarman and Flavio Cipolla.

“I was very happy to visit the course participants and share some of my experiences with them,” said Devarrman, India’s number one ATP players. “It’s great that these Indian coaches have the chance to learn from such international experts.”

Congratulations to all the new C-level GPTCA members!
