Ljubicic Becomes National President for Croatia
We are glad to announce that Ivan Ljubicic, former world No. 3, has been appointed National President for Croatia, effective from 8 June 2013.
Ivan Ljubicic, born on March 19, 1979 in Banja Luka, is one of the greatest Croatian players ever.
In 2005 he helped Croatia win the Davis Cup, winning 11 of his 12 rubbers. In 2006 he reached the Grand Slam semifinal (losing to Rafael Nadal) at the French Open and climbed as high as No.3 on the ATP World Tour rankings. The biggest success, however, came at the tail end of his career, when he, after having finished runner-up in three Masters finals, captured the crown at Indian Wells in 2010, becoming the oldest man to win his first Masters title.
He retired with 10 ATP World Tour titles under his belt and has a great record against the Big Four (Nadal, Djokovic, Federer, Murray), having beaten all of them at least twice.
