C-Level Course in Offenbach, Germany

The C-Level Course that took place in Offenbach from April 12-14 focused on contemporary training and coaching methods. All 62 participants gained a thorough understanding not only about the modern game of tennis, but also about ITF & ATP rules, mental training techniques, on-court footwork, and the right scheduling of tournaments for professional and rising players. This year's GPTCA star lecturer was Toni Nadal, uncle and coach of Rafael Nadal. Mr. Nadal shared first-hand information regarding Rafa's development as a player, his favorite drills, and how a coach & player relationship should look like from his perspective. Furthermore, all participants had the unique opportunity to see Toni Nadal live on-court, and to ask him questions concerning tennis technique, footwork, and other important aspects of the game.

Additional highlights of this year's first GPTCA seminar held in Germany, were lectures by Alberto Castellani, Alexander Waske, Benjamin Ebrahimzadeh, and Norbert Peick.

Alberto Castellani (GPTCA President, tennis & mental coach) emphasized the importance of "mental coaching“ in professional tennis, and taught mental training techniques that all participants were able to implement with their own players at home. The ITF supervisor Norbert Peick provided important first-hand information that all coaches should be aware of, when working with junior and professional players on Tour. Hs lectures touched on the most relevant rules of the ITF, WTA and ATP Tour.

During the on-court tennis sessions, all participants had the opportunity to learn from Alexander Waske (Former Davis Cup player and GPTCA President of Germany) and Benjamin Ebrahimzadeh (Head Coach at Schüttler-Waske Tennis University). The sessions focused on teaching the right tennis technique (forehand/backhand) and footwork (cross-over). All participants had the chance to implement their acquired knowledge on-court, under the supervision of Mr. Waske and Mr. Ebrahimzadeh.

All coaches that received their GPTCA diploma had a fun weekend, and learned a lot about the game of tennis.
