New GPTCA National President of Brazil

   The GPTCA is pleased to announce Carlos Kirmayr as its new National President of Brazil. Kirmayr was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He is a former professional tennis player and Brazil's Davis Cup team coach (1984, 1985, and 2004).

 

   His career best ATP ranking was world no.36 in singles (1981) and no.6 in doubles (1983). He won a total of 10 Grand Prix doubles titles and played five finals in singles.

 

   After a successful professional career, Kirmayr started coaching in 1984. He won US Open and 11 WTA titles with Gabriela Sabatini, 7 WTA titles with Conchita Martínez and 4 WTA titles with Arantxa Sánchez Vicario. He is currently coach of Paula Cristina Gonçalves on the WTA Tour.
